Can you believe that this was made with shredded paper? Yes I made this flower with shredded strips found in someone's recycling point on the street.

That shredded paper that I found few weeks ago opened a new world for me. Because of that I started looking for more recycled paper strips and found a treasure. A big recycling bag full of coloured shredded paper. I couldn't believe my eyes how cool the paper was and it was for free.

The same day I started to quill this flower and I love how it came out.

Here is another similar flower I've done with the same shredded paper.

Thanks Hussena. I love the fact I can create pretty things from paper that someone threw away.

What amazing work! I love filigree in jewellery and my engagement ring has filigree by design ( I picked it out and helped design it) but I have never seen much done in paper. Does it travel well in the mail or is it destroyed by the post? I now have a homework project and will try out some of your patterns. I have added your blog to my fav list. You rock!

Thanks Wanda for your nice comment. The quilled pieces get squished in the post if you send it just in an envelope. I always wrap my pieces in bubble wrap and back it with thick card so it doesn't get bent and they always arrived safe. Good luck with your homework :)

Thanks Catherine. I actually try and hope that I will start a trend in quilling with recycled paper. The shredded paper doesn't cost money and it's accessible to a wide range of people in lots of countries. With this I hope to get more people into quilling.

From the first picture you can't even tell the card was made using recycled paper. It looks amazing! The shredded paper with that writting on the edge gives the quilled picture a special feel.
