Quilled bookmarks

I was inspired to make this quilled bookmarks from one of my flickr contacts Martina

They are a good practice as they help me to perfect my quilled shapes.

Quilled Lotus Flower, originally uploaded by Elenatgeezer.
I really had fun quilling this. It's one of my favourite so far.

I did this for one of mine and Andy's project Mailart 365 . He made a Koi fish in a pond and I wanted to add a lotus flower. This is how the end product looks like.

#5 (Andytgeezer)/#9 (Elenatgeezer) - Zen pond and Lotus flower

Aquatic life, originally uploaded by Elenatgeezer.
I decided to make this quilling scene as I love fish. Me and Andy have an aquarium at home but just a small one, only with fish no octopus or see horses unfortunately. :-(

This is the 8th piece for Mailart 365 witch was sent to a happy mailbox.

P.S. Unfortunately our camera broke and I had to take photos with an old one witch is very difficult to handle so the photo is not great. This actually looks much better in reality that in the photo.

Another one of the X-mas card series and the 6th piece for Maiart365

This is another one of the X-mas card series and the 7th piece for Maiart365

With Christmas fast approaching I decided to start working on greeting cards to send to the ones I love.

This is also the 5th piece I did for my project Mailart365

4/365 Spring blossoms, originally uploaded by Elenatgeezer.
I spent more than seven hours making this piece but I think is worth it. This is the 4th piece I made for Mailart 365 and I send it to one of my favourite mail artist.

The quilling represents a recreation of the drawing on the left.
Quilled Skull

Skull, originally uploaded by Elena_H.
Andy told me few weeks ago about this guy who post a Skull a day on his blog. I had a look and his blog is quite amazing (the site is running for almost 3 years now, with skulls send from people from all over the world) so I decided to quill one for him.

I attached a string to the skull so he can use it as a Christmas decoration since we are in December. :-)

P.S. This made it on Skull a day.Check it out and see more amazing skulls.

1 - Quilled Flowerpot, originally uploaded by Elena_H.
This is the first piece of mail art for Mailart 365.

The theme for this month is to recreate some of the rubber stamps that I have in the house into quilled art work.

This first piece is a pot of orange flowers.

And guess what.... more flowers :)

This is another card from the butterflies series. The card has 3 quilled roses in the middle surrounded by a oval frame of marquise quilled coils coils.

Underneath is a closer view of the inside of the card.

Flowers and butterflies greeting/birthday card

I received from Andy as a gift a butterfly card kit a while ago. I really liked it as I love butterflies. Now when I am quilling as well I found a better use for it.

Here are some classic quilled flowers quilled on one of the butterfly card.

Quilled Tags, originally uploaded by Elena_H.
As you probably realised by now I'm a "bit" mad about flowers.

This are more flower quilled on some blank tags. They are great to attach to a present.

I am very excited about my new present from me to me :-) I'm gonna receive in the post, hopefully in the next 2 week, this calendar gem. I've been looking all over the internet for it. It's really hard to find as is not printed any more (to expensive and not enough buyers I guess).

The whole idea is that this calendar has on every page corresponding to every day of the year a small quilled design and the the necesary paper strip to make it. I think it's an awesome idea.

I spent all day yesterday to find the 2008 calendar (as it's the last one in it series) but the only one I could get my hands on was an used 2007 instead. That's good enough for me as they are very expensive and I managed to find a cheap one in France.

Now I can't wait to receive it and get started. I will join Andy in his Mailart 365 project and send my little projects all over the world.

Purple flowers on photo, originally uploaded by Elena_H.

I've pimped this photo for Okadascat's project Something purple .

She is one of my favourite mailartists. Check her blog for some cool knitted ideas.
Tanglecraft quilled artistamp, originally uploaded by Elena_H.
From time to time I get involved in mailart and send bits of my quilling to artists around the world. If you want to find out more go to my REAL wall.

This is a small flower that I did for one of Tanglecraft's projects.
Red flower greeting card, originally uploaded by Elena_H.
This is another simple thank you card. One of the first one I've ever quilled. I'm still a beginner in quilling but I enjoy it a lot.
White daisy, originally uploaded by Elena_H.
I quilled this white daisy to give it to my manager as a thank you for giving me 3 days off to study for my stats exam.

Underneath is another quilled daisy. I think they are great as a thank you card. They are easy and quick to do and they look nice and simple.

Purple quilled flower card
Abstract flower bouquet, originally uploaded by Elena_H.
I discovered paper filigree less than a year ago when I accidentally saw a quilling book on Amazon. From that moment I fell in love with paper quilling.

Andy had a mailart lesson the other day and I wanted to be in the show. I had only 10 minutes in the morning before he will leave the house so I grabbed a postcard and some few already quilled coils and start pimping. Is not the best piece ever but this is one of the first I made and the bear looks cute, so I like it.

The quilling represents a abstract flower bouquet.
